Purpose of Role:
To provide commercial financial support to the Business Director and their team, delivering sound commercial judgements and evaluation on business performance, potential new business and re-negotiations. Ensuring at all times that the Group financial policies and procedures are rigorously adhered to.
Key Responsibilities:
· Financial evaluation of client tenders
· Financial evaluation of capex appraisals
· Support of new client tenders and rebids
· Ensure financial implications of client contracts are understood and enforced
· Develop action plans with Operations to improve low margin / loss making contracts
· Proactively work with credit control, operations and the client to ensure invoiced debt is collected to terms
· Work with operations and commercial function to ensure:
· Food wastage is minimised
· Contractual compliance is maintained
· Margin management across the business
· Work with operations to optimise / minimise labour and in-unit overhead costs
· Further develop the approach to flexing labour
· Identify process improvements at unit level and work with operations managers and unit managers to implement improvements
· Work with operations to ensure there is visibility of all committed costs and that all costs are correctly captured in budgets, forecasts, flash updated and are correctly accrued at month end
· Support the forecasting and budgeting process to ensure robust and challenging targets are set
· Review and actively control risk on the balance sheet
· Ensure accounting entries comply with Group Accounting Manual
· Assist Operations Team with the preparation of variance reports on period end P & L's versus plans and last year.
· Proactively use financial information to help drive improved performance in the business
· Ensure that sales invoices are raised accurately and on a timely basis.

· Newly Qualified in ACA, CIMA, ACCA or nearing qualification
· Knowledge of SAP and Cognos (in-house Compass Group system)
· Experience of working in a multi site environment
· Previous relevant finance experience
