The Group Accounting and Reporting function delivers Group consolidated statutory, external and internal management reporting (Daily, Weekly and Monthly) for Paddy Power Betfair plc. It provides essential Finance expertise and ongoing support to the business in respect of new business initiatives and developments. The function also closely monitors developments in International Accounting Standards and practice within the industry.
Role Overview/Purpose:
Reporting to the CFO - Malta, the Finance Manager will play a central role in the delivery of all team outputs and in the implementation of key process improvements to deliver enhanced financial information to internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent technical accounting, analytical and reporting experience are essential for this role. In addition, candidates should be able to demonstrate commercial acumen and solid experience of building and maintaining strong and productive working relationships with a broad range of demanding business customers and across the wider Finance community.
Specific responsibilities will include:
•Manage a small team with regards to the group treasury reconciliation process;
•Support all Group management reporting processes including daily & weekly revenue reporting and the monthly management accounts close;
•Continuous development of existing reports and design of new reports to meet senior management requirements;
•Continuously improve the monthly close process and work closely with the divisional finance teams to continually develop internal management information across the business;
•Ad hoc reporting (internal / external) and other tasks as assigned from senior management;
•Production of information for inclusion in the Annual and Interim published financial reports;
•Preparation of annual statutory accounts for Paddy Power Betfair plc and its subsidiaries, in accordance with set timescales;
•Liaise with divisional finance teams in relation to month end reporting and various other tasks;
•Research and conclude on technical financial issues which impact the Group;
•Regulatory and Tax data sourcing and reporting across Europe;
Key competencies required:
•Communicates effectively with financial and non-financial people across the business;
•Collaborates with others across the organisation to get work done;
•Drives results and takes a proactive approach to problem solving;
•Provides insight into business performance;
•Resilient, determined and hardworking;
Experience required:
•5+ years of post qualification experience
•Solid experience of delivering meaningful, value added internal financial reporting and analysis to a broad and diverse range of revenue and cost centres;
•Excellent financial accounting experience with a solid understanding & interest in technical accounting issues;
•Proven experience of assisting in the development and implementation of reporting & operating process improvements in a Finance environment;
•Strong Financial Systems experience - Oracle Financials would be an advantage;
•Excellent MS Office skills - particularly Excel;
•Management experience preferable but not essential
