Financial Analyst
Cobham Mission Systems in Wimborne are a leading Aerospace and Defence Company, we are currently recruiting for a Financial Analyst to support the Group Controller on an initial 3-month contract. The Financial Analyst will deliver actual, budget and forecast data, with specific emphasis on providing detailed analysis and insight to meet stakeholders’ requirements.
The Financial Analyst position will be based in Wimborne, Dorset and requires minimal travel. The role will initially report directly to the Group Controller. The role is available on a 3-month contract with a very competitive day rate.
Financial Analyst Duties:
* Collate and produce monthly management accounts (actual and forecast) for the Group
* Collate and produce consolidated annual budget and three-year plan for the Group
* Analyse monthly results and variances from budget/forecast, investigating unusual balances or trends and provide clear and insightful commentary
* Provision of financial data to the Investor Relations team, including monitoring of consensus information and in support of the interim and year end announcements
* Lead development of reporting templates used by the business (via Application Studio)
* Contribute to ad hoc project work from time to time to support the business unit finance teams
* Produce clear and logical reports from the consolidation reports.
Essential Skills and Criteria:
* Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) with a strong commercial grounding.
* Experience in an accounting/finance role within an international/ complex organisation.
* Advanced Excel skills and an ability to present financial data in a clear manner
* Analytical skills; ability to manipulate and interpret data. A keen eye for detail and accuracy, ensuring financial data is summarised in a logical and informative manner, appropriate to the given audience
* Ability to operate in a deadline driven environment where quality must be maintained
