HOURS: Flexi - hours: 37.5 hours: 9:30am to 6:00pm or 9:00am to 5:30pm

HOLIDAYS: 20 days annual holidays plus bank holidays

DESCRIPTION:

Our client is a small but growing accountancy firm with a wide and varied client base. The company will be relocating to St Albans, Hertfordshire in early July 19.

As part of its ongoing growth, the business is now seeking a Trainee Accountant. This is an amazing opportunity for a candidate who is AAT qualified or part qualified as the company is willing to support the costs of the remainder of your training. If you are already AAT qualified, the company will support the cost of training to ACCA standard.

JOB ROLE (Not limited to):
  • Responsible for bookkeeping and preparation and filing of vat returns
  • Liaising with clients to collate records
  • Preparation of payroll and autoenrollment.
  • Assisting seniors with preparation of statutory accounts and tax returns
  • Assisting director with engagement letters plus relevant documentation for new clients
  • Updating and requesting money laundering documentation from clients
  • Company secretarial duties including setting up limited companies and filing of confirmation statements, setting up payroll and registering clients for VAT
  • Assisting Director to maintain and update client database

IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • Must be AAT qualified or part – qualified or part ACCA qualified
  • Minimum 2 - 3 Years experience in an accountancy practice essential.
  • Familiar with Xero and freeagent software and recent developments with “making tax digital”.
  • Knowledge of BTC software a plus but not essential.
  • Attention to detail
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills
  • Academic Qualifications: 8 GCSEs including minimum B at Maths and English
  • 3 A Levels – Minimum Grades 120 UCAS points or equivalent qualifications
  • Driving license essential
  • Team orientated - willing to get involved and help the team to hit deadlines
  • You must be focused and have the drive to exceed customer expectations and go that extra mile
  • Willingness to learn and grow with the company
