Role Description
The candidate will primarily be focussed on delivering the team's and Firm-wide strategy of implementing new technology, supporting:
Initial focus will be on delivering solutions to automate manual processes across the Treasury / Liquidity risk function. This includes, but is not limited to:
The candidate will also be expected to develop junior members of the team, though sharing product / tool and technical insight. Over time the role may evolve into a more integrated cross Finance / Corporate function in order to deliver Nomura's vision of larger scale digital transformation.

The candidate will primarily be focussed on delivering the team's and Firm-wide strategy of implementing new technology, supporting:
- Digitalisation
- Process Automation & Agile Transformation
- Data Model redesign
Initial focus will be on delivering solutions to automate manual processes across the Treasury / Liquidity risk function. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Full involvement in the build cycle; from collating / drafting requirements through to development and UAT regressions
- Working closely with the BAU team to ensure:
- product SME insights are incorporated into the build
- understanding current BAU challenges and providing practical reporting solutions in line with regional and global strategies
- provide thorough handover of reporting solution to Production team.
- Minimise replication / reproduction of existing processes on new tech and challenge / develop new methodologies
- Deployment of low-code / no-code solutions where possible (utilising tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI)
- Identifying new tools that can be on boarded to support the function's needs and liaise with the Finance Transformation Office (FTO) to engage in wider scale roll out plans
The candidate will also be expected to develop junior members of the team, though sharing product / tool and technical insight. Over time the role may evolve into a more integrated cross Finance / Corporate function in order to deliver Nomura's vision of larger scale digital transformation.
Success Criteria
Success in this role will be based on:
- Automation and rationalisation of manual processes (efficiency saves, enhanced controls and accuracy)
- Deployment of new tech to support ever increasing demand for rapid data processing and visualisations
- Simplified Treasury data model, in order to allow for future development to support internal metrics / other regulatory reporting requirements
- Ability to translate new tech to non-digital natives in an accessible manner for longer term self-sufficiency
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required
Knowledge (essential)
- Strong understanding of Investment Banking products
- Understanding of new fin-tech tools, including data prep and data visualisation tools
- Ability to develop across languages: Python / SQL / VBA / etc…
- Ability to develop across platforms: PowerBI / Tableau / Alteryx / etc…..
Experience (desirable)
- Regulatory liquidity reporting experience
- Project / change management in an investment bank
- Designing and implementing various data models
Skills
- Able to translate technical builds into simple models, suitable for non-technical end users
- Able to challenge and provide alternative approaches to remedy existing problems
- Able to keep pace with changing timelines and internal prioritisations
- Organised and methodical, being able to deliver to tight deadlines
- Able to provide agile reporting solutions without compromising the control environment
- Able to self-review, identify and escalate issues appropriately
