Job Description

Minimum Entry Requirements:

· Master in Business related field

· CPA (K)/ ACCA (Final)

· Member of Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Kenya

· At least 5 years' experience in accounting work out of which 3 must have been in a management position

· Computer literate

Duties

· Supervisory task: Supervises all the activities in finance department and the staff of the department

· Book Keeping: Keep proper books of accounts as per the International Financial Reporting Standards

· Prepare and analyse on regular basis budgetary estimates and explanations on deviations; and advises the General Manager on their implications and solutions

· Management Reports: Prepare on monthly basis the management reports, interprets them and provide the way forward report.

· Work plans: submit to the General Manager on regular basis the work plan for the department and how to achieve the tasks.

· Reconciliation: Prepare all reconciliations by 5th and make all the adjustments by 10th every month

· Insurance: Handle all Insurance /death claims in timely manner

· Statutory returns: Ensures all society's statutory returns and payments are done in time.

· Asset register: Ensure registers and schedules of society's assets and liabilities are current at all the times

· Financial statements: Prepare on a quarterly and annual basis comprehensive financial statements and presents the same to Finance Committee

· Cash flow projections: Prepare on a regular basis cash flow projections and advices on the variance and provides a means of attaining optimal level.

· Auditing: coordinate the external audit tasks and ensure that all the recommendations affecting the departments are implemented.

· Committee meetings: coordinate all activities of the Finance Committee and supervisory committee on accounting issues in consultation with the General Manager

· Policies: Ensure that all the accounting policies are implemented

· Any other duty that may be assigned
