The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Platform Lead to join our Transformation and Innovation Team.

The Transformation & Innovation team joins up our capabilities, processes and governance across Change and IT to provide both a strategic capability plus a leading edge technology footprint to support the transformation of M&GPrudential and delivery of our Vision for 2020 and beyond. The role of the function is to collaborate across the business to initiate, design and manage strategic change for M&GPrudential in a holistic manner. The function will also focus on providing affordable and reliable technology solutions and services that will very much be at the heart of Prudential's business success.

Our Platform teams, are looking for highly motivated Enterprise Security engineers with strong technical skills, problem solving abilities, deep customer affinity and strong communications skills to join our Platform operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with a team of platform engineers to deliver high quality platform solutions to plan
  • Provide oversight and guidance on design and implementation to other team members and development feature teams inside an agile studio
  • Work with the project manager to estimate and plan deliverables.
  • Work with architects to review and challenge designs and deliver supportable platform solutions
  • Work with operations managers and Head of Platforms to implement appropriate operational procedures
  • Ensure a strong commitment from the team to continuous improvement of platform development, process and operations
  • Ensure SDLC processes are followed for the platform including automation of build, deploy and test processes
  • Accountable for ensuring platform and process documentation is appropriate and up to date
  • Accountable for production of delivery artefacts and appropriate quality assurances processes are followed
  • Accountable for ensuring environments are available so as to support business and development timescales. Responsible for development of a DevOps strategy in support of Prudential Wealth customer projects
  • Promote SAFe agile principles and methodology, follow various engineering practices and approaches

You will have:

  • BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience of Off-the-shelf package implementation and support
  • 3+ years Salesforce Administration, Release Management or Developer experience
  • Salesforce Certified Administrator, Salesforce Certified Platform Developer credentials
  • 2+ years of BI and ETL experience in Informatica, SQL, Oracle and/or similar technologies
  • Experience of data sync technologies to transport data safely across organisations
  • Experience of bespoke application build implementation and support
  • Cloud (AWS) application and infrastructure services: VPC, EC2, S3, IAM
  • Development and maintenance of build scripts and use of Jenkins for build automation
  • Unix shell scripting in bash / ksh; Windows scripting, Python development
  • Experience of continuous integration/deployment and development techniques
  • Exposure to Scrum/Agile delivery methodologies
  • Expert technical understanding of the intersection of development and operations (DevOps) Microsoft Azure knowledge & hands-on experience
  • Experience of cloud & container technologies and solutions(particularly Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes) and other SaaS/PaaS technologies
  • Able to succeed in a fast paced, high growth work environment. Experience of operating in agile working practices and exposure to Atlassian products (Jira and Confluence), Github
  • Exposure to continuous integration/ continuous development related systems and techniques (e.g. Azure DevOps (VSTS) / Jenkins)
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills, a phenomenal teammate with strong analytical, problem solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Appreciation of Hadoop Big Data technologies: HDFS, YARN, SQOOP, Hive, Impala and general cluster management (Microsoft Azure)
  • Intermediate/advanced level of understanding of excel
  • Track record of use to manipulate management & operational systems
  • Track record of interacting with all levels of management
  • Track record in data analysis (through work)
  • The ability to drive decisions and be hands on.
