Description

  • To provide effective finance and business partnering support across the organisation and across a portfolio of work areas to be assigned.
  • To be responsible for the ongoing implementation and transition budgets and liaising with budget holders and stakeholders as required under the direction of the Head of Finance.
  • Responsible for the operational management, development and performance of 2x Finance Assistants and one other finance member of staff.
  • To support the organisations key savings and change programmes including modelling, project documentation and business cases as required for new developments and to provide a flexible outward facing presence in the organisation as required to do this.
  • To provide finance lead support to any savings programmes as required
  • To support and co-ordinate key data and information requirements across the team and to include wider system work such as contract data analysis.
  • To support business planning processes in providing business partner support to new bids and development cases as assigned
  • To support the finance team with the development of team processes, branding and policies and to promote engagement in these by wider staff members.
  • Support the completion and review of finance reporting to Committees and Board as well as other departments through business partnering.
  • Ensure financial information is processed in accordance with procedures: investigates complex enquiries providing assistance & advice as required and contributes to reporting.
  • Supports the completion of work for statutory and other returns, ensuring that work is completed in line with financial timescales and legal requirements, interpreting these and using sound judgement where necessary.

Profile

  • CCAB qualified accountant.
  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in specialist area.
  • Business Partnering experience.
  • Staff Management experience and able to exert authority but with a well-balanced management style.
  • Expert knowledge of accounting for complex organisations, to include Budget preparation, Forecasting, Maintaining the integrity of technical data and accuracy of reporting, Business Cases and bids for funding and Consolidating data.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Experience of managing risks and reporting.
