Top Oil has a vacancy for a Project Accountant. The position is based in our Head Office located at Block P1 EastPoint Business Park, Dublin 3, D03 C825.

Title: Project Accountant

Reporting to: Finance Director

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
  • The Supervision of one Staff member.
  • Evaluating new business opportunities that emerge across the TOP business and providing financial oversight for the Sales and Management teams.
  • Evaluating new site opportunities and progressing these through letter of offer stage to lease & licence completion or purchase agreement stage.
  • Liasing with the Company's solicitors in all aspect of the lease/purchase and licencing of new sites - this will include dealing with Sales & Operations to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Evaluation of retail customer economics including the preparation & review of projections for customer contract negotiations, analysis of related IRR, Payback and other Investment Appraisal criteria.
  • Approval and supervision of the process of issuing Letters of Offer & Supply Agreements to Retail customers, including monitoring and controlling related solus expenditure.
  • Working with the Sales team across our sales channels, monitoring and review of Customer performance, ensuring adherence to key contractual terms and related review of branded sites.
  • Other Project work including the preparation of Capital Expenditure Proposals and assisting in the development of our ISMS implementation and other ad hoc project work as it arises.


Skills and Competencies
  • A qualified accountant, with experience in a senior role.
  • Strong project management skills and specifically prior experience of managing, planning & co-ordinating project related activities
  • Demonstrate an ability to manage workloads.
  • Prior experience of contracts/ leases / legal etc is a distinct advantage.
  • Good understanding of investment appraisal techniques such as IRR, Payback and discounted cashflows.
  • The candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable working on their own initiative
  • Numerate with strong PC (particularly MS Excel, Word) skills
  • Good technical, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills and prior experience of letter writing and drafting reports and other business papers.
