An award winning and GBP25M turnover business in the Lancashire area is looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to join them as soon as possible. The opportunity will become permanent for the right candidate who can make an instant impact, drive best practice and improve systems and processes in the long–term.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

* Manage of the end to end payroll and expenses process for 900 employees

* Reconcile the monthly payroll

* Manage all payroll compliance and HMRC obligations

* Administer all aspects of the pension schemes and providers

* Recommend process improvements

* Manage the payroll software and lead software updates

* Lead, mentor and manage a small team of Payroll Officers

Experience & Qualifications required:

* Proven experience operating as a Payroll Manager of a small team

* Ideally CIPP qualified

* Experience of managing pensions

* Excellent understanding of payroll legislation

* Ability to improve processes

* Strong use of payroll software and payroll software upgrades

In return you will work in a hands–on Payroll Manager role and have the opportunity to truly make the role your own. As Payroll Manager you will add value by improving processes and lead a software upgrade. You will manage the relationships with HMRC and pension providers and have commercial exposure working closely with the HR and Operational teams to mitigate risk on any payroll and pension legislation. The company is accessible from Bolton, Leigh, Wigan, Ormskirk, St Helens and the surrounding areas.
