Dangan Recruitment are working exclusively with a key client on the selection and appointment of a Managing Director for one of their group business units. The Group has 280,000 customers and over 30 years of experience within the utility industry in Ireland. Founded in the early 1980's, the business has grown from strength to strength in the intervening years to a point where today, the Group employees over 1,600 people and contains some of the most widely recognised and trusted brands in Ireland and are the leaders in their sectors.
The General Manager holds ultimate responsibility for the day to day running of the Cork operation and for ensuring its customer satisfaction promise is delivered upon.

Responsibilities:
Lead and develop commercial activities
Effectively monitor, interpret and challenge financial results and communicate issues, risks, opportunities and trends, performance outlook including competitor activity and market trends to the management team on a timely basis
Conduct critical reviews of the performance of the contracts within the business, identifying trends
Manage all aspects of the business ensuring maximum efficiency, excellent customer service and optimum commercial performance
Ensuring best in class standards across all aspects of the operation from Health & Safety, Working Practises and Procedures, Quality Assurance, Environmental management and customer satisfaction
Manage the profile, development and delivery of the company's activities with stakeholders in the Cork region.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5+ years in senior management, with proven experience managing teams, products and P&L responsibilities
Ideally an Accountancy or Business Management qualification
Excellent general management, people management and communication skills are required
Possess strong business acumen, curiosity and an ability to work across business lines
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office, (excel, power point, word) is required
