Senior Audit Manager (Licensing)
We have an exciting opportunity within our Licensing team for a Senior Audit Manager to work across our offices in Kings Cross and Streatham.
PRS for Music is the UK's leading collection society, bringing together two collection societies: the Mechanical–Copyright Protection Society and the Performing Right Society. We undertake collective rights management for musical works on behalf of over 140,000 members. We pay royalties to our members when their work is performed, broadcast, streamed, downloaded, reproduced, played in public or used in film and TV. About the Role
The Senior Audit Manager will lead the Audit & Monitoring strategy for PRS for Music's Licensing division, including the settlement of major audits. Working with the Director of Licensing to set the strategy, and then implementing the strategy with a continued programme of audits of key broadcast, online and recorded media customers, which maximise the revenues back to MCPS and PRS members.
We are looking for someone who can directly settle audits as findings are established, independently leading negotiations with key accounts for high value settlements and supporting the team in their settlement discussions for other audits.
The ability to build strong relationships and having excellent communication skills are essential to be a success in the roles. The successful candidate will manage the Audit Administrators and oversee the work done across circa 100 audits across the course of the year.
The roles will also support the Director of Licensing in:
- Setting the overall Audit Policy which determines which licensees should be targeted for audit, balancing the need to establish greater compliance across the marketplace with maximising revenues through audits of higher value licensees.
- Lead management input into the Audit Services Advisory Group (ASAG), ensuring clear and effective decision making. Build relationships with members of the ASAG so as to maintain their trust and confidence in the work of the audit team.
- Manage relationships with external audit providers ensuring that they provide the best possible service at a competitive cost.
You will have proven negotiation skills with demonstrable experience of autonomously leading and closing off high value negotiations with key customers with demonstrable excellent people–management skills with experience of leading teams to exceed results. The ideal candidate will have significant experience of leading the planning, execution and reporting on audits and experience of managing multiple third–party service providers.
Strong strategic planning skills, Financial analysis skills with the ability to understand and interpret complex data and summarise this to non–experts. You will be an excellent team player with the ability to take initiative to prioritise effectively and manage communication across various stakeholders.
Desirable Experience – A good understanding of the digital music, broadcast and media industries, ideally with experience of working in this sector. Experience of working in an intellectual property or copyright related role.
