Group Financial Controller

Our client, a progressive group of companies, is looking for a high-calibre commercially minded individual, to provide astute financial leadership. The Role Reporting to the MD, the Group FC is expected to plan and direct the finance and accounting function to deliver comprehensive, robust financial reporting, decision support information and budget management. The position plays a key role in business development and the current M&A thrust. Proactively monitor, evaluate and report on issues relative to business performance, providing prudent and pragmatic advice to the executive to ensure operational effectiveness and sustainability. Collaborate across companies to support the needs of each business, forge synergies and deliver shared goals. Promote a high performance, learning culture; engage and develop the accounting team to build a sound infrastructure of support. Maintain a network of healthy relationships with key stakeholders to keep abreast of the market and identify likely initiatives that drive new revenue. Preferred Profile ACCA/CPA ideally with an MBA; a highly credible background in a similar position, working at a senior management level for at least 5 years. Experience in M&As that includes merging operations for efficiency and performance. Detail-conscious, with proven capabilities in governance, financial and risk management. Acknowledged team building skills that promote collaboration around excellence to deliver consistent outstanding results. The role requires an agile and strategic thinker, responsive and technically sound, comfortable interacting at all levels, and with the self-assurance to gain the confidence of the Board.
