Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring timely payment of debts. This involves chasing customers on the telephone/email and liaising with agents.
- Checking and posting receipts to accounting system.
- Reconciling customer accounts and resolving any queries and disputed invoices.
- Setting up new customers.
- Credit checking via Experian new customers and periodically existing customers.
- Providing Finance Director with aged debt reports and bad debit analysis when required.
- Providing administrative support to the team, predominantly checking orders.
- Responsible for managing the Returns Process. This involves liaising with the warehouse to arrange collection of goods, updating a returns spreadsheet and providing customers with credit notes when goods collected.
Skills and experience:
- At least 4 years' experience in credit and collections
- Outstanding attention to detail with an ability to reconcile complex accounts
- Excellent IT, especially Excel
- Accurate, efficient and organised with the ability to prioritise tasks as needed
- Knowledge and experience of accountancy software
- Ability to maintain strong relationships with customers and colleagues
- Professional, confident and diplomatic when liaising with others
