Financial Controller

Specialist, highly innovative firm of chartered accountants established and growing substantially for over 10 years seeks Financial Controller to contribute to managing continuing expansion of its business and UK-wide client base.Working closely with the Managing Director and responsible for the accounting operations of the company including a small finance team, the role will involve introducing and improving upon existing internal controls and procedures to streamline the business activities as well as collating financial data, carrying out analysis to identify opportunities to continue to develop. It will also involve compliance work as well as liaising with external auditors, with an input into firm policies and strategy. Your main responsibilities will include: • Management of the finance function• Preparation of monthly consolidated P&L, balance sheet and variance analysis• Preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash flows• Production of statutory and internal financial/management reports• Financial modelling and related analysis• Ensuring maintenance of financial ledgers and accounting processes• Cash and working capital management• Treasury duties• Ensuring that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained• Preparation of VAT and other statutory returns You will need: • Successful experience as a lead or managerial finance executive, in similar role and gained in a professional services and/or commercial environment, also preferably contributing to the development and delivery of taxation strategy• ACA or ACCA qualification• A progressive and proactive approach with the appetite advancement as the practice continues to expand• First class interpersonal skills, showing effectiveness working with all staff, customers, suppliers and a variety of external organisations Please note: High levels of interest mean we will only contact you if your application is shortlisted and this will happen within five working days.
