The Execution and Transition Risk Data Senior Manager role

This newly created role represents an opportunity for a Senior Manager or an Experienced Manager looking to take the next step in their career to work at the heart of on-going development of LBG's Execution & Delivery Risk Framework. You'll enable COO Business Risk to influence the way the Group defines and monitors Execution & Delivery risk, ensuring that Change is executed in a safe and controlled manner, business and customer outcomes are achieved, and risks managed.

Supporting the Head of Execution Risk, you'll look to improve processes for identifying, measuring and managing Execution & Delivery Risk within the Value Streams and Enterprise programmes, in addition to looking for ways to improve efficiency and accelerate the MI production process. You should also be comfortable using data analysis tools and able to gain meaningful insight from data.

As an Execution and Transition Risk Data Senior Manager, you'll engage with senior stakeholders within Group Transformation on a regular basis, bringing them on the journey as the management of Execution & Delivery Risk continues to evolve.

Key Accountabilities:

The team will work together in a non-hierarchical way, where every colleague brings their own skills and knowledge to the table and contributes in the best way they can to the team backlog (a prioritised list of work) and success. As such, the allocation of tasks between colleagues will be flexible rather than fixed by "grade". The core responsibilities of the team include:
  • Development of the Execution Risk Framework [Working with Change Policy team, Process owners and COO Business Risk around the Group, and 2LOD teams]
  • Cross group development and project management of the developing Execution risk framework
  • Cross group reporting & engagement on Execution risk (e.g. supporting TD reporting into Divisional Risk Committees on the topic, explaining the framework)
  • GSR3 & GRC Reporting on Execution Risk [Working with Group Executive offices; Change Policy & Investment Management teams]
  • Reporting to Group BSC team on Group BSC Measure for Execution Risk, and maintaining evidence as required to substantiate performance reports.
  • Support the Director in writing Regulatory updates as and when required, and managing any actions committed to supervisory teams.
  • Continuous improvement of the Execution Risk MI and reporting suite
  • Automate reporting & Develop innovative data visualisation techniques to improve understanding and communication of Execution Risk data
  • Triage incoming demands on our team, add to Kanban board and facilitate weekly backlog grooming by the Head Of as required.
  • Support the Head of and Director as necessary in preparing updates for senior meetings, committees etc.
  • Using data from disparate sources to drive insight. Members of the team need good numeracy and good presentation skills.


Skills and Experience Needed:

  • Self-driven, highly motivated with an appetite for Risk management and a track record of strong performance.
  • Has extensive experience in risk management and in how the Group delivers change (today and tomorrow) and derives value from risk management, to make good risk decisions, and to drive continuous improvement.
  • Can operate in an ambiguous and constantly changing environment making use of available data to make good decisions and be prepared to provide subjective insightful views backed by appropriate data in simple ways.
  • A capable communicator, who can develop and utilise a personal network across the organisation, confident and effective in dealing with senior stakeholders.
  • Not afraid of challenging the status quo and advising senior leadership within the programme, doing so in a way that is collaborative, supportive and encourages them to improve and embed new ways of working.
  • Self starter who is able to work without the need for constant guidance and direction; knowing when to escalate key concerns to senior management within the Programme and COO Business Risk
