The Financial Markets Infrastructure team is the business owner of all credit risk platforms in use across the Commercial Banking Markets division. The team is responsible for the design, development, testing and implementation of all approved changes to those systems. The team delivers small-scale change through regular release cycles, and medium and large-scale change partnering with the front office business transformation functions, to ensure that risk management systems are enhanced in line with the wider business objectives driven by the front office and regulatory requirements.

As a Financial Markets Manager, you will be expected to work as part of the Financial Markets Infrastructure team; taking the role of Business Analyst for Risk on one (or more) business transformation project/s as well as supporting ongoing BAU.

This will involve:
  • Acting as a business analyst on risk initiated and regulatory change. This involves documenting the business requirements from all relevant Risk stakeholders, defining the test strategy, test plan and test cases as well as coordinating and executing testing, capturing and managing the resolution of defects and transitioning the change into production ensuring all required change documentation is completed
  • Acting as a Credit Risk SME for strategic and front office led transformation projects and contributing to the wider development of risk systems within Commercial Banking Risk to support these projects.
  • Acting as the Credit Risk point of contact for certain business transformation projects, liaising with key stakeholders within Risk, Methodology/Modelling, Front Office and Risk IT in the capacity of a business analyst. As such, the role requires the ability to define and manage project plans, run working groups, maintain a RAID log, control change requests, compose a run-book, manage communication to stakeholders, etc.
  • As Business Owners of all credit risk systems that support the Markets division you will need to ensure any changes these systems are compliant with all regulatory and internal LBG policies and standards.
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships - Financial Markets, Risk, Group IT, Finance, Models & Methodology
  • Support daily BAU and delivery of small-scale BAU 'bug-fix' change as well as system upgrades when required.
  • Support creation and maintenance of system documentation, user guides and data dictionaries
  • Assess current and future state requirements from stakeholders Make recommendations and write business cases Perform gap analysis of impacts, identify target solutions and execute delivery of preferred solutions (both internal and vendor)


You'll ideally possess either a relevant qualification in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics or Finance, or be able to demonstrate clear evidence of comparable quantitative skills acquired through relevant training and work experience. With your experience in a Credit Risk function, you'll have good knowledge of Credit Risk for traded products (Repo, Rates, FX, Credit, MM and structured transactions etc.) and core credit risk measures provided (PFE, EE, Settlement, etc). You'll have knowledge of risk management practices within a Commercial Bank and an understanding of the current and future regulatory requirements for Credit Risk systems. Advanced use of VBA and SQL would be advantageous but not essential.

Experience Required
  • At least a 2.1 degree, preferably in a mathematical discipline.
  • Proven experience in a Tier 1 bank, strong preference being in a projects-focused, analytical role.
  • Experienced Business Analyst with proven experience of producing high-quality requirements documentation for medium to large-scale projects, preferably in Risk.
  • Knowledge of Credit Risk for traded products (SFTs, Rates, FX, Credit, Inflation, Equity and structured products etc.).
  • General understanding of the theory behind derivatives pricing.
  • Knowledge of risk measures (PFE, EE, EEPE etc.).
  • Knowledge of Clearing / Collateral Optimisation advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Murex-MLC Credit Risk platform advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Basel III, Dodd Frank, EMIR advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the full Software Development Life-Cycle.
