Pertemps Specialist Permanent Division is currently recruiting a Senior Accounts Assistant for a large, long established firm of chartered accountants based in Glasgow. The firm provides a full range of services to clients including audit (both internal and external), accountancy and valued added, corporate and personal taxation, business advisory, corporate finance and consultancy services Operating within the business advisory services team, this role will involve the preparation of accounts for small/medium sized organisations for a varied client base.
Key Responsibilities:
• Planning assignments
• Preparation of accounts for partnerships and sole traders
• Preparation of accounts for audit exempt companies and online filing
• Preparation of charity accounts
• Preparation of management accounts including reconciliation of key control accounts
• Taking ownership of assignments from planning through to completion
• Preparation of draft tax computations and online filing
• VAT return preparation
• Bookkeeping
• Provision of SAGE software training to clients
• Assist in the development and management of the department control and administration procedures
• Assist with the coaching and training of the business services trainee staff
Skills/Knowledge:
• Appropriate experience in preparation of accounts for audit exempt, sole traders and partnerships
• Competent in the use of accounts preparation software Competent in the use of SAGE software
• Excellent day to day use of the Microsoft suite (eg, Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint) Identifying and effectively reporting any issues and recommendations for improvement to clients, as well as drafting the related sections of formal reports.
