This position is responsible for performing compliance audit functions as assigned. The position requires the ability to research, define and implement government regulations, guidance and instructions. These functions support the appropriate billing, reimbursement and general compliance with governmental regulations across Mercy. This position will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide support and facilitate compliant processes.

Education: Bachelor's degree or comparable work experience with emphasis in Business Office, Finance, Health Information Management, Nursing or related field. One to three years experience.

Experience:
  1. Experience in billing and/or coding at a healthcare organization or physician practice. Awareness of coding requirements in one or more of these areas: MS DRG, APC, CPT, ICD, HCPCS2 is preferred.
  2. Experience in auditing and/or financial processes, health care operations.
  3. Certifications: Open to obtaining one or more healthcare coding certifications within 24 months.
  4. Other: Excellent organizational, analytical, teamwork and communication skills both verbal and written. Some travel may be required.
