Reed Accountancy & Finance are currently working with a well-established and reputable client within the construction industry UK & ROI who have a new permanent opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join their team.
The Role:
Reporting to the Divisional Accountant, the Assistant Accountant will be responsible for the financial administration of the Farrens business.
More specific duties include:
Keeping management/financial accounts and providing periodic financial reports required, including for Joint Venture undertakings
Ensuring compliance with HMRC VAT, CIS and other statutory requirements
Dealing with contract management teams regarding contract performance queries
Operating Joint Venture Bank Accounts
Implementing and ensuring compliance with all accounting systems and control procedures
Any other duties commensurate with the job role as directed by the Farrans Divisional Accountant
All other duties as required by Senior Management in line with your role
The Person:
The successful candidate will be Part Qualified CIMA / ACA / ACCA or Newly Qualified and will ideally have construction industry experience. Candidates will have experience using an integrated accounting system, will have excellent MS Excel skills and must have a full UK driving licence.

Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
Professional manner is essential
Possess a ‘can-do’ attitude
Capable of working on own initiative
Able to prioritise, multi-task and an understanding of deadlines and working to achieve these
Must be commercially aware, reliable, trustworthy and be able to deal with confidential information
Excellent organisational and administration skills
Experience of working in a team with an ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines
