The opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Consultant / Manager specialising in simulation modelling to join our talented Decision Modelling and Economics group within Transaction Advisory Services in Sydney or Melbourne.

We work across all industries and operate in a broad range of disciplines including data analytics and visualisation, simulation and optimisation, transaction and decision support modelling, advanced economic modelling and bespoke model development.

Your key responsibilities

In your role, you will have a primary focus on simulation modelling within our Decision Modelling and Economics team. Your focus will be on the application of simulation modelling to a range of industries and problem types. You will use advanced simulation modelling and experimentation techniques and have a strong grasp of the use of statistics to provide insights into the decision making of our clients on their key capital investment and operational issues. This will allow you to develop and maintain positive, productive and professional relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Skills and attributes for success
  • Proven experience in the use of simulation modelling tool AnyLogic
  • Good commercial acumen with excellent interpersonal and client management skills
  • Experience and understanding of the operational aspects across a range of industries
  • Strong data analysis and presentation / visualisation skills including the ability to identify, extract, manipulate and use statistical methods to analyse large data sets
  • Good model building skills combined with an ability to map models onto real world applications
  • Strong problem solving abilities and a commercial mindset
  • Excellent analytical, communication and teamwork skills


To qualify for the role you must have
  • A bachelor's degree in statistics, applied mathematics, data science, engineering, operations research, computer science / software engineering.
  • Proven experience in the use of simulation modelling tool AnyLogic . In some cases tools such as Arena, Extendsim, FlexSim etc. will be considered
  • Experience in the use of statistical programming packages (R, Python) and/or experience in visualization applications (Tableau, Power BI and/or Spotfire)
  • Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL
  • Programming experience in Java/C#/VB.net/Javascript etc. would be highly regarded
  • Knowledge of other operations research and optimisation techniques desirable
  • Capabilities in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint are required
This position will be either Sydney or Melbourne based but may require some travel.

The minimum salary for this role will be $68,000
