Group Accountant Controls

A high growth and cutting edge Cambridge based business are currently growing rapidly and now need to recruit a Qualified Group Accountant (Controls) to help strengthen expertise provided to the Group. This role will help deliver the external reporting responsibilities of the group, including liaison with external auditors and advisors as required and providing expertise in technical accounting interpretation. Reporting to the Head of Group Financial Reporting & Treasury, The post holder will also be instrumental in helping to review and revise the Group's financial policies and ensuring these are translated into solid internal controls across the Group to strengthen compliance.Roles & responsibilities:• Input into monthly group management accounts process i.e. consolidation adjustments/elimination preparation balance sheet recs• Assisting the Head of Group Financial Reporting and Treasury in investigation of technical accounting queries, including producing first draft accounting papers • Support the Head of Group Financial Reporting and Treasury in production of the group interim and year end statutory accounts, including ownership for certain notes to the group statements and preparation of associated accounting papers• Assist with implementing a regular review process of Group policy compliance, including on-site visits to overseas entities, to ensure material control deficiencies are identified and mitigated, and corrective actions implemented• Conducting detailed half-yearly subsidiary balance sheet reviews for allocated subsidiariesThe ideal candidate will be ACA/ACCA qualified from an audit background with experience of performing group consolidations, including consolidation eliminations, in an international group business. As such, this would be the ideal first move for a candidate who has qualified in profession with significant experience in auditing international groups.Please call to discuss this opportunity in more detail
