Key Responsibilities
General Risk & Compliance
- Communicate the risk management policy and compliance management policy, processes, roles and responsibilities relating to the company
- Provide training and support in risk and compliance management, including board members.
- Support the Board of Directors in promoting a culture of risk and compliance awareness, identification and management at every level
- Be the principal point of contact for all business areas for all risk and compliance queries becoming the compliance "expert"
- Attend Board Meetings on a regular basis to update on monthly developments and provide a formal Quarterly report on all risk and compliance activity to the Board.
- Work closely and regularly meet with the CEO as well as the Senior Management Team.
- Manage, support and contribute to all Risk and Compliance Committee meetings.
Compliance
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the risk based annual Compliance Plan for approval by the Board of Directors.
- Evaluate new and emerging regulatory requirements and ensure their incorporation into internal compliance standards, policies and procedures as required, and ensure that the procedures are duly followed
- Assist management in identifying and assessing potential compliance issues, maintain a log of compliance breaches and monitor the implementation of any corrective actions.
- Review all standard documents including all product Terms and Conditions, and all advertising material to ensure their compliance with appropriate regulation.
Risk
- Development, implementation and continuous review, but at least annually, of the Risk Management Framework.
- Detailed testing and monitoring on a regular basis (and in so doing inform the Quarterly Risk Reporting to Board) of the systems and controls ensuring adherence to:
- Policies, procedures, work plans
- Legal and regulatory requirements
- Industry standards and guidelines
- Advise the Board of Directors on risk management policy and process any deviations from the same.
- Maintain the risk register ensuring regular reviews are conducted with various business areas and with those committees or officers with specific responsibility for each recorded risk.
- Be responsible for the running of Risk & Compliance Committee meetings i.e. agenda setting, minutes compilation as well as implementation of the committee annual plan.
Audit
- In conjunction with the Internal Audit Function, assist the preparation of the Annual Internal Audit Plan and review the Audit charter for approval by the Audit Committee. Communicate Internal Audit findings to the Audit Committee, follow up to closure and report back to Committee.
- Attend all Audit Committee meetings and provide papers /assist in committee administration as required.
Required Qualifications & Knowledge
The successful candidate will be an ambitious and confident self-starter seeking a fresh challenge. The ideal candidate will have the following skills, experience and qualifications:
- Good technical skills and an understanding of regulatory and compliance processes and risk management procedures in Ireland.
- Will hold an appropriate third level qualification.
- Have achieved appropriate and relevant qualifications in risk and compliance management.
- Possess a minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in Risk and or Compliance within a regulated financial services environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
