Job Description/Experience

The role will include assisting on general finance matters including:
  • Client/matter initiation - opening new clients, checking Anti-Money laundering documentation, opening new matters.
  • Matter administration - reviewing old matter balances with fee earners to ensure that these are tidied up including both old work in progress and unbilled disbursements. This will also include getting matters ready for archive.
  • Cash administration - looking after petty cash, trips to/from the bank, getting cheques signed, arranging and delivering foreign currency.


The role will also involve training on both billing and e-billing systems and the person will assist our existing billing team with e-billing administration to include:

  • Validating for loading and loading e-bills using a variety of different legal e-billing systems such as CounselLink, Serengeti, OB10, Collaboration, Collaborati, Billing Point. This will also include liaising with the client over any rejections and re-submissions.
  • Training legal secretaries and fee earners on the production of LEDES documents ready for validation/uploading


Skills Required
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office especially outlook and excel
  • Comfortable operating different IT systems
  • Communicates with clients and international colleagues over the phone and by email in a friendly, efficient and professional manner
  • Strong client service focus, showing willingness, flexibility and commitment where appropriate to follow through with work obligations
  • Keeping their line manager informed of the status of various assignments
  • Work methodically tracking documents sent and expected return of documents, and updating appropriate checklist or listings
  • Prioritise workload and meet requirements of the role promptly
  • Work efficiently under pressure and use own initiative


Requirements



The ideal candidate will have a minimum 2 years' experience in an accounts department within a professional services organisation.

Ideally you will have/possess the following characteristics:
