Accounts Receivable Officer

Main Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Collect outstanding Accounts Receivable balances by sending Statements, Aging Reports and general reminders to customers via phone, email, fax or mail. Reconcile the Customer Accounts to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted. Research and resolve discrepancies by checking bills, invoices, sales receipts and bank deposit records. Generate monthly, quarterly and annual reports detailing paid and unpaid invoices and other accounts receivable activity. Performs administrative services, process credit/ home loan applications, posting transactions, and calculating interest and totals, as well as tracking incoming payments. Ensure compliance of all credit policies and procedures. Review Accounts Receivable Aging Report on a monthly basis and coordinate with Senior Management team regarding course of action for severely delinquent accounts. Liaise with Drivers/Bearers for the collection of cheques. Assist in other accounting functions as necessary. Qualifications & Skills First Degree in Accounting or Business related field and/or ACCA/CAT certification. Previous experience with an established track record of achievement in similar role will be considered an asset. Sound working knowledge of accounting systems, processes and policies. IT proficiency to include Microsoft Application. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics RMS and Daceasy Accounting and Point of Sale will be considered an asset. Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and a strategic thinker. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently or as a part of team. Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Hands on and proactive in approach to job, with the ability to achieve and surpass set objectives. Experience in the hardware, supermarket or general retail industry will be considered an asset.
