6 month contract assisting Finance & Compliance Projects

Role based in Maidenhead for a Financial Accountant (Compliance)

Client Details

Wellknown bluechip pharma business

Description

Maintain strong internal relationships with Controllership, Shared Services, Operations and Payroll.

Authorised Economic Operator - support with compliance checks and recommendations for the improvement of related SOPs and update detailed guidance notes.

UK VAT grouping - working with the business and external advisers to collate information, for present to senior management the benefits of VAT grouping

Working with internal IT functions and external advisers to extract PeopleSoft data and prepare the data key documents and explanatory files

Corporate Criminal Offence - working with global compliance, shared service functions and the business to develop a working/reference file and present recommendations for improvements in current processes.

Statistical Returns - Preparation and timely submission

UK tax packs - Completion and timely filing of with local service provider for preparation of corporate income tax (CIT) returns.

Senior Accounting Officer - providing support in reviewing and updating risk matrices, testing of controls and other tasks required to presentation to Senior Accounting Officer for approval

Analysis of staff Travel & Expenses for appropriate reporting on PSA and P11d

UK R&D tax credit calculations

Local Travel and Expenses Policies - work with payroll and external advisers to document the requirements for business travel and home office expenses

Profile

Qualified Accountant ( ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent)

Experience gained in accounting, reporting and compliance experience. Ideally including VAT returns, audit, statutory financial statements and corporate income tax returns.

Knowledge of Peoplesoft ideal.

Multicurrency accounting treatment.
