The job responsibilitieas are below but the key selection criteria – in addition to the below are:

• University degree from a reputable university and must be a qualified accountant (CA, CPA or ACCA). CFA is a plus as quite a few team members have both qualifications.

• Stable career history in financial reporting with a fund accounting angle (a must) at a tier 1 asset manageror a SWF in one of the international money centers

• Strong English communication skills / high detail orientation / expert knowledge of NAV/valuations

Driven, results-orientated, engaging and credible leader (you willlead a team of 12, of which 3 direct reports)

Purpose of the role:

Responsible for the timely production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements. Includes ensuringthat all accounts are maintained, substantiated and reconciled, ensuring timely and accurate Management Information System (MIS) reporting to monitor assets under management, assuming overall responsibility formaintaining the firms corporate ledger. Identify potential risks and suggest improvements regarding controls,systems in use and business management. Interact with the Department management concerning financial
forecasts and reports.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Provides leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team.

Establishing and developing relationships with senior management and external partners and stakeholders.

Exercises financial authority at the level established by management for the position.

Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations issued by financial authorities in the UAE and in jurisdictionswhere the Council or its’ SPVs operate.

Reviewing and approving all formal finance related procedures.

Recommends changes to existing procedure to improve accuracy and efficiency of work activity. Activeinvolvement in committees that are set to review and/or implement financial systems and procedures.

Appoints third party service providers as per standard vendor selection and approval process; supervises andmonitors the quality of their services and deliverables as per stated KPIs.

Directs and supervises the preparation of financial statements for the firm and its’ SPVs, in all jurisdictions.

Ensures that all financial and accounting transactions relating to the various investments of the firm areproperly recorded in the General Ledger. Includes ensuring that all transactions are properly completed, andaccounting entries are timely posted.

Provides requested information to parent organization within required timelines. Coordinates throughout theyear with the parent organization and subsidiaries to ensure there are no surprises during the year end audits......
