This is an exciting time to join Virgin Media as a Trainee SOx Analyst as you will be ensuring that the business is operating appropriate financial and IT controls at a pivotal time in the history of our business. Working closely with the business, you will be maintaining process documentation, challenging process design, advising on best practice controls and performing appropriate testing to ensure internal financial controls are operating as designed.

So why Virgin Media? We are delivering the biggest investment in the UK’s digital infrastructure for over a decade, with a £3bn programme to extend our ultrafast broadband network and brilliant Virgin TV to 17 million homes and businesses. We’re challenging our competitors with the best services and the fastest speeds.

This is an excellent development opportunity for someone wishing to take their first step into financial reporting or auditing and gain an understanding of business processes as well as risks and controls. Within this role your duties will be wide ranging, but ultimately you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the business is operating appropriate and timely financial reporting controls for a number of key business activities, via end to end process reviews and performance testing of these controls.
  • Supervising regular control self-assessments, working with business stakeholders to ensure these are completed efficiently and to the required standard.
  • Assisting with periodic Corporate Governance reporting activities.
  • Helping users maintain and update ICE, the online tool for documenting SOx activities.
  • Overseeing the SOx team’s administrative tasks.
  • Occasional travel to other VM/LG offices.

Everyone in our SOx team has a proactive approach to work, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to deliver to deadlines. If you join us as a Trainee SOx Analyst we would want you to have:

  • A strong interest in financial reporting and auditing, and the link between business processes, financial reporting risks and controls.
  • A relevant university degree or similar qualification (AAT or equivalent desirable).
  • The willingness to train for a relevant financial qualification (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Proven ability to work with a range of business stakeholders and communicate effectively at all levels, including senior management.
  • Advanced report writing/written communication skills.
  • A proactive and analytical mind-set with excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Developed computer literacy skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • The ability and willingness to travel to other VM and LG locations

Join and you’ll be part of the Virgin Media family. We’re a great place to work – and we offer impressive benefits too! You will get a generous holiday allowance, contributory pension, performance related bonus and, of course, discounts across Virgin Media products ad Virgin brands!

Come and be a part of something special.  Join us!
