Role

Reporting to the Tax director, Nuance Communications India and part of the Nuance India Finance Group, Tax and Fiscal Manager, India will be responsible for the management of statutory accounting and reporting, liaison with statutory and tax auditors, IFC & SOX audits, for all Nuance India entities in addition to steer and review monthly accounts reconciliation, tax accounting for all Nuance India entities. He will also support Direct and Indirect tax team in providing data to defend tax audits and various global reporting.  
The role will require a person with a clear vision, the ability to deliver across Nuance functional groups; including Global Finance and Tax Groups, amongst others. A critical success factor of the role is to to build and develop an effective and efficient internal network, in particular a virtual network as key contacts may be located both in the US and Europe as well as in India.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and managing fiscal books and statutory financial statements; liaison with statutory auditors, tax auditors for all India entities
• Review and approval of all monthly account reconciliation relating to tax accounts, TDS, Service tax, & inter-company as per USGAAP.
• Supporting the Tax Director to gather data and other requirements for Tax; Government Authority or other Compliance audits/reviews
• Drive and steer IFC and SOX documentation on quarterly basis for all India entities.
• Develop and implement a controlled, efficient and documented process for all tax matters
• Delivery of tax reporting, to include regular metrics; accurate inputs into cash flow; budget management etc
• Support the ongoing review of open claims and the timely closure/settlement of same
• Build relationships with local tax advisors, consultants and others as required
• Keep up to date on all India tax and regulatory changes, Accounting Standards such as Ind AS, USGAAP, ICDS and be able to advise, share best practices and guide the Nuance on the same
• Delivering and support to Tax Director in India on ad hoc projects/tasks.

Qualifications
 
• Professionally qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• 10 to 12 years + PQE

Knowledge 

• Strong tax skills; core principles and concepts
• Excellent  understanding of US GAAP, IND AS and India GAAP  
• Experience of working for a US or International multinational
• Big 4 practice background an advantage 
• Knowledge and expertise in Oracle an advantage

Skills / abilities 

• Strong Microsoft office skills (EXCEL, Word, Power-point)
• Proven ability to meet deadlines, multi-task and prioritize 
• Proactive approach to solving problems
• Ability to work flexibly in a dynamic environment with multiple and changing priorities while establishing and meeting deadlines in a fast-moving, high-growth environment
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English, a second language an advantage
