Job Description
The Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA) is a State Corporation established under Micro and Small Enterprises Act No. 55 of 2012. The Authority (MSEA) is categorized as a Service Corporation, PC 3B and is domiciled in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives. MSEA was established for the promotion, development, regulation of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSE) Sector in Kenya.
The Authority is mandated to formulate and review policies and programmes, promote and develop MSE sector, monitor and evaluate implementation policies, programmes and activities related to MSE development. Further, the Authority is established to coordinate, harmonize and facilitate integration of various Public and private policies, programmes and activities related to Micro and Small Enterprises in Kenya.
POSITION: SENIOR INTERNAL AUDITOR 1 POST; REF.NO:MSEA-2/3/2019 (MSEA GRADE 7)
The Senior Internal Auditor will report to the Board Audit Committee and administratively to the CEO on all matters pertaining to Audit.
10.Carrying out a review of accounting, financial and budgetary and other operations, systems and procedures
11.Any other responsibilities as may be assigned by the CEO/Board
Qualifications and Skills:
(i) Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Accounting/Finance option) from a recognized institution and passed CPA (K) or part III of Certified Internal Auditor Exams from a recognized institution; and
(ii) Be registered with Institute of Internal Auditors (Kenya);
(iii) Proficiency in Computer application skills
(iv) Served in a similar position in a reputable organization for at least three(3) years
(v) Demonstrate thorough understanding of the mission, vision, and strategies of MSEA and the ability to clearly interpret and apply the role of Micro and Small Enterprise in Kenya's social economic development and particularly in line with vision 2030 and the Big four agenda
In addition, all prospective candidates MUST satisfy the requirements of leadership and integrity as set out in Chapter six (6) of the constitution of Kenya and attach the following documents to their applications:-

- Reviewing the effectiveness of the internal audit function
- Reviewing and developing audit techniques and procedures for finances as well as undertaking comprehensive audits
- Undertaking specific audit assignments and preparing detailed audit observations and reports;
- Draw up audit programmes and issue audit report queries and observations;
- Monitoring and evaluating processes and procedures of donor and government funds, disbursement usage; preparing and monitoring audit reports;
- Assisting in carrying out institutional risk evaluation, and efficiency audit;
- Conducting financial and systems audit;
- Carrying out timely and continuous audit;
- Assisting in developing and updating of internal audit manual.
