M&A Tax Manager, Big 4 CA Firm, Glasgow or Edinburgh, £dependent-on-experience + excellent benefits

Your new company
Hays is proud to be partnered with a highly reputable Big 4 firm of Chartered Accountants with offices and clients across the UK and spanning the globe. It is one of the leading professional services networks in the world, delivering high quality Tax, Assurance and Advisory Services for a variety of clients, for example over 100,000 private and entrepreneurial businesses as well as a substantial number of the Global 500. Given successful business development and work being moved from London to the Scottish offices, this firm is recruiting for a Tax Manager with particular interest and experience with the tax implications of mergers and acquisitions.

Your new role
This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Private Business Service Line, whilst specialising in the remit of M&A Tax. You will assist with the management of a diverse portfolio of UK and international clients, helping organisations, owner-managed businesses and private-equity backed companies with various aspects of merger and acquisition transactions such as restructuring, due diligence, divestiture, partnerships and insolvency. You will collaboratively establish fiscal goals, quantify and analyse tax assets and risks, and accurately report potential taxable income and further impacts. Further to this, you will be involved in business development, undertake research, contribute to the team's technical and professional improvement, and manage staff and workload.

What you'll need to succeed
As the successful applicant, you will have a proven track record delivering M&A projects and experience of managing others. You will be pro-active with excellent communication skills, lending well to business development. This will be demonstrated in having previously built and maintained strong internal and external relationships. Relevant qualifications, for example ATT, CTA, CA or ACA, will enhance your application.

What you'll get in return
Working for a dynamic and reputable firm with a modern ethos and numerous opportunities to progress, you will receive a competitive salary of between £45,000 and £55,000. All-encompassing, you will gain the opportunity to see the "bigger picture" of any deal or transaction, for example Tax due diligence reviews, vendor assistance, Tax structuring advice, Tax modelling, funds flow, management tax planning, sale & purchase review service, post deal implementation services, PFI deal structuring and modelling advice, and transaction tax and VAT advice on deals. Further to this, benefits include a generous pension scheme (matching a contribution of up to 15%), private health care, income protection and life insurance, as well as flexible working in respect to hours and location. In addition, the firm also offers opportunities to work within other offices within the UK and abroad.
