The Method is recruiting for Finance Coordinator to work extensively with the team and Financial Controller to monitor and process the day to day financial activities of the company including but not limited to invoicing and coding. The purpose of the role will be overseeing the daily running of Accounts Payables.

The successful candidate will be a self–starter, who can work collectively with a remote team and will be a vital part in our finance function.

The role will be 3 hours a day (subject to review) for 5 days a week. The work hours will be predefined to allow for coordination of tasks in a remote company.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Monitoring and Processing transactions including:

  • Purchase ledger/reconciliation of statements
  • Sales ledger/remittances
  • Nominal ledger/journals/coding
  • Payroll journals
  • Bank posting and reconciliations
  • Credit cards

Reconciliation of:

  • Bank accounts
  • Credit cards
  • PAYE/NIC and wages
  • VAT

Key Skills

  • Preciseness and high attention to detail required.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Able to work well under pressure, to manage time effectively and able to show flexibility
  • and adaptability when required.
  • Ability to show initiative and work independently as well as within a team
  • Ability to prioritise duties

Further Support depending on experience can include

  • Depreciation from asset registers
  • Accruals
  • Prepayments and accrued/deferred income

Experience Required:


GCSE Maths and English, minimum C grade (or equivalent)

Ideally have bookkeeping qualification

Experience of accounts preparation

Previous experience in the Accounts Payable function.

Experience of working with Xero

Awareness of working with Receipt Bank is beneficial

Excellent time management skills

Proficient in managing various IT systems

Able to effectively manage a busy workload and manage conflicting priorities

Experience of working within a Finance Department

Excellent interpersonal skills

Knowledge of VAT

Microsoft Office – Excel, Outlook, Word

Ability to work as part of a team and alone remotely

Ability to work to deadlines and budgets

Further Details for the Role

Whilst the role is primarily working from home, during an intensive induction you will be required to meet regularly with the Managing Director and Financial Controller at London based venues for the first 3 months of this role. Thereafter travel to London is required for regular Team Meeting/s.

You will also attend a team evening event in London (once a quarter) to spend time together socially
