iMultiply are delighted to be engaged on a permanent Assistant Management Accountant position based at a manufacturing facility in the central belt of Scotland, the successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Finance.

Providing support to the Head of Finance with the company’s monthly management reporting. The successful candidate will take ownership of all aspects of the company’s bookkeeping, including accruals, prepayments, capital expenditure, VAT and other key balance sheet reconciliations. They will also provide supervision to the accounts payable assistant ensuring the smooth operation of the purchase ledger.

  • Processing of bank payments using RBS bankline
  • Reconciliation of bank / cash accounts in multiple currencies on accounting system
  • Preparation of weekly supplier payment runs
  • Preparation of monthly payroll for approval by Head of Finance ( experience dependent )
  • Preparation of monthly VAT returns for review
  • Approval of draft invoices
  • Review of general ledger to identify coding errors
  • Calculation of monthly accruals and prepayments
  • Consolidation of staff timesheets
  • Preparation and posting of payroll journals
  • Submission of monthly pension payments
  • Maintaining fixed asset register and identifying capital expenditure
  • Posting of monthly depreciation charge
  • Ensuring all month end postings are made for management accounts preparation
  • Support Head of Finance on various tasks / projects as required
  • Supervise Accounts Payable Assistant and provide assistance with more complex problems as required
  • Ad hoc report preparation and general finance administration

  • AAT Level 4 / HND in Accounting / ACCA CAT foundation level or similar equivalent ( highly desirable but not essential )

  • Minimum 3 years’ work experience in a commercial finance team.
  • Experience of monthly management accounts preparation
  • Strong bookkeeping / double entry knowledge
  • Payroll experience ( desirable but not essential )
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and use of initiative
  • Extensive experience using various accountancy software
  • Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Advanced Excel skills ( desirable but not essential )
  • Thorough approach to work and high attention to detail
  • Strong time management and organisational skills

Office based, full-time role 9am to 5pm - 37.5 hour week.
