Senior Financial Accountant - 12 month contract - £42 ph PAYE - Defence – Preston**
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Financial Accountant to work for a major defence contractor based in Preston on a 12 month contract.
Role Description:
You will be responsible for managing a number of entities and branches within the Overseas portfolio of companies, co-ordinate the preparation of the budget for a number of entities and branches, business and reviews with the management team. Provide timely and accurate reporting information for both internal and external use, this will include such activities as HFM inputs, forecasts and information for the external auditors. Coordination of the year end statutory accounts and tax pack for the entities and branch this role is responsible for. This includes working with the project finance teams, Group Tax and external auditors. This is likely to also include some experience of South Africa statutory reporting requirements. Build and manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders such as, Group Tax, in country fiscal representatives and professional advisers.
Managing the overall integrity of the financial accounting ledgers within the Sage accounting system through the application of good financial controls. Using Sage and SAP systems to record all the financial accounting transactions, effective cash management to ensure that the business can meet its commitments and support the business in identifying potential foreign currency risk exposures particularly in areas where new/additional business are needed
Ideal skills required:
Must be a qualified Accountant with either ACCA, ACA, CIMA or similar
Have a passion for accountancy
Previous Financial Accounts experience – statutory accounts, tax etc
Experience liaising with auditors
Experience of Sage and Sap accounting systems is desirable
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Keen problem solver with the ability to think outside the box
Ability to work well under pressure and within a fast paced environment
Attention to detail and accuracy
Minimum Intermediate competency level of Microsoft Office i.e. Excel, Outlook and Word
Excellent communication skills – ability to liaise with technical and non-technical audiences
