Overview
The firm is looking to recruit an Assistant Manager to join the Audit Support Hub based in Liverpool. This team is one of several Hubs within BDO’s rapidly growing Shared Service Centre (SSC). SSC team members work internally within the business providing support to the client facing members of the firm.
The Audit Support Hub provides audit set-up, planning and completion support to Audit stream clients as well as assisting in the delivery of BDO’s own data analytics tool.

The Audit Support Hub Assistant Manager in BDO’s Shared Service Centre will be required to manage a portfolio of audit support projects and tasks in combination with supervising staff in the team. Managing end user expectations and ensuring schedule adherence are pre-requisites of this role.

Responsibilities
This will be a challenging and rewarding role where you will:
• Supervise a team of Audit Hub Assistants and Associates.
• Allocate, review and manage the work output of the Audit Support Hub team to ensure outputs are to the required time and quality and are within budget.
• Ensure that the firms’ quality control procedures are adhered to as required.
• Engage with BDO’s regional client facing audit teams on operational performance (for example, quality and timeliness metrics and being point of escalation).
• Engage with BDO’s senior audit stakeholders in promoting and driving further adoption of service take-up as well as compiling forecast information from across the business in order to allocate resources accordingly.
• Report monthly to stakeholders across the business on the Audit Support Hub’s Key Performance Indicators.

• Work extensively with BDO’s proprietary audit support systems and processes – including support to process improvement and change management.
• Deal with internal queries with colleagues and teams across BDO UK.
• Assist in the recruitment of additional or replacement Audit Support Hub team members
• Provide supervisory support to colleague supervisors as may be required.
• Conduct monthly 1-2-1’s, along with mid/end year reviews and tracking effective objectives.

Requirements
Essentials:

• Educated to degree level with supporting accounting qualification.
• Experience of performing or managing audit work is highly desirable.
• IT skills - strong working knowledge of MS Office and similar desktop applications. Experience of workflow management type systems is advantageous.
• Credible and confident to interact with stakeholders at senior level.
• Strong people management skills: empathetic and encouraging style to support junior team members to excel in their roles.
• Excellent time management, organisation and prioritisation skills. Be able to lead by example and influence optimal performance of team.
• Ability to use own initiative and take a flexible approach
