Our client is an independent Private Equity firm based in central London. A new opportunity has arisen in their Finance team to undertake all aspects of legal entity accounting for the UK based Advisor and parent entities, including management and statutory reporting. This role is ideally suited to a newly/recently qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) from a mid-sized accounting firm seeking their first role in industry.

The Role:
  • Day to day responsibility for the UK based advisor entities - involving detailed accounts & tax analysis and legal/Co Sec work as required for the main UK operating business. To include preparation of monthly management accounts, variance analysis, budget and forecast preparation & query resolution.
  • To operate & maintain corporate general ledgers.
  • To liaise with suppliers as required to resolve matters of dispute & safeguard corporate assets.
  • To ensure all statutory reporting requirements for UK based entities are met and provide support for the year-end audit process to ensure it is effectively co-ordinated.
  • To assist with all tax matters pertaining to the Advisor, including VAT preparation & co-ordination as necessary with external tax specialists to ensure tax obligations are up to date, understood and communicated internally as appropriate and to help manage the firm's relationships with HMRC with regard to VAT, corporate and personal tax matters for employees and partners.
  • To co-ordinate with Office Manager & CFO on employee matters, including payroll, new starters, expense procedures, pensions and provision of other benefits as appropriate.
  • To oversee the review, reconciliation and posting of credit cards expenses or out of pocket reimbursements.
  • To participate in the review and monitoring of all fund SPV Financial Statements and quarterly management accounts
  • To assist with ongoing system development/automation.
  • To help provide Finance support and expertise to deal related teams during transactions, including accurate cost capture, assistance with structuring, corporate governance and liaison with fund administrators
  • Maintain corporate compliance reporting templates and assist to ensure accurate and timely FCA reporting.

Requirements:
  • You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • You will have good academics, to include a degree (2:1 or better preferred)
  • Likely be a newly or recently qualified accountant
  • Ideal background will be from an accounting practice where you will have had good exposure to accounts preparation
  • Have excellent all round communication skills, be a self starter and be a commercial thinker
