Head of Operational Risk - Insurance

Your new company
Hays is partnering with a reputable and growing insurer, where risk management and governance is highly regarded in the upcoming strategic growth. With a strong market presence in Hong Kong, this insurer is implementing new initiatives, where an effective risk management framework is critical. They are currently hiring for a Head of Operational Risk. Apart from leading the team, you will drive Operational Risk Committee and oversight on 2nd line.

Your new role
You will lead development, enhancement and implementation of Operational Risk Management (ORSA), Business Risk, Governance and Compliance Technology solutions. This includes ensuring effective risk policies and programs are in place. You will guide the risk team in conducting risk and solvency assessment and identifying mitigation of risks. You will provide independent advice on new business initiatives, incidents, tools and best practices. Finally, you will engage with business in aligning with risk management to build a collaborative culture.

What you'll need to succeed

• 15+ years of experience from insurance or related industries
• Broad exposure across risk, audit, operations and finance
• Deep knowledge in insurance operations, risk management and control framework
• Well-developed leadership skills with solutions and results oriented mindset
• Ability to work under fast paced, dynamic environment
• Strong people skills, analytical and influential skills
