The indirect tax teams within EY Asia-Pacific Tax Center (APTC) is expanding and looking for strong candidates at the Senior Manager/ Director level to join our teams. The indirect tax teams within which the APTC operates is a teams of highly experienced indirect tax professionals who are providing Asia-Pacific wide solutions and services to multi-national companies.

The indirect tax teams within EY Asia-Pacific Tax Center (APTC) is expanding and looking for strong candidates at the Senior Manager/ Director level to join our teams. The indirect tax teams within which the APTC operates is a teams of highly experienced indirect tax professionals who are providing Asia-Pacific wide solutions and services to multi-national companies.
Work comprises of four core components:
- Facilitate of operational excellence initiatives concerning supply chain, operating model design and performance improvement that drive strategic business growth for EY clients (Operating Model Effectiveness (OME)).
- Digital Indirect Tax including advising EY clients on how to build a robust indirect tax strategy for profitable growth in the face of vast digital change, including advising on the indirect tax considerations relevant to cross border digital operating models implemented by both traditional and disruptive companies.
- Working with the tax technology and transformation services group to design and help implement technology and data supported solutions and services to improve indirect tax processes and identify indirect tax saving opportunities.
- Asia-Pacific wide indirect tax advisory engagements comprising both global trade and VAT, providing EY clients with the Asia-Pacific solution.
- Stay abreast of Digital Tax Administration trends and indirect tax policy changes impacting the way EY clients do business
- Demonstrate an understanding of complex supply chain concepts and effectively apply customs and indirect tax knowledge to client situations
- Assist in developing and delivering quality OME and Digital Indirect Tax work products in a timely and responsive manner
- Thoroughly analyze client information. Prepare quality practical approaches to the client's situation
- Develop recommendations and implementation plans for clients and teams members
- Run client relationships and leverage internal/external relationships to generate revenue opportunities for EY
- Develop deep sector and geography insights on indirect tax issues and advise clients accordingly (the role is not a mere project management role coordinating advice from other EY office locations)
- Work seamlessly with tax and advisory colleagues across Asia-Pacific and ROW.
- A Bachelor's degree in any subject (required to meet local work Visa requirements)
- Strong technical knowledge across either Global Trade or VAT (ideally both), Full technical training will be provided on indirect tax, customs or digital tax areas as needed that the candidate has not experienced previously.
- Excellent verbal / written communication skills in business English (experience of working in Asia or with Asian languages is preferred but not necessary)
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced professional services environment and cope with undefined situations
- Willingness to travel in Asia-Pacific
- Experience working in professional services firms and/ or industry
