Axon Moore is representing a world class firm based in Stockport. In line with strong plans for growth, our client is looking to strengthen their finance team with the acquisition of an ambitious Management Accountant.

The Opportunity:

The successful candidate will be a key member of the finance team, reporting directly into the MD and the Head of Group Finance. This is a real hands-on role giving exposure to a range of activities within the finance function. You will need to be commercially astute and ambitious with a willingness to bring fresh ideas and innovation and a desire to acquire new skills. The role covers all aspects of accounts including production of management accounts, journals, sales ledger, purchase ledger, and bank reconciliations.

Main Responsibilities will include:

- Month end journals including accruals, prepayments and depreciation
- Production of management accounts to Managing Director and Group Finance including some brief analysis on variance to budget and month-on-month
- Mid to long-term cash flow reporting
- Quarterly VAT returns and Intrastat
- Assisting Group Finance with the on-site year end audit and liaising with the on-site auditors
- Running year end procedure in Sage
- Monthly EC sales reporting
- Tracking, Processing and payment of supplier invoices
- End to end credit control procedures from sales invoicing to posting cash receipts
- Managing customer credit limits, posting of charges and balancing accounts
- Bank reconciliations
- Preparation of payroll for bureau
- MRP system reporting and development
- Ongoing system and process improvements
- Cover or assistance with general office admin duties

Desired experience:

The successful candidate will be a personable, dynamic individual who wishes to grow and develop alongside a successful growing business, with support from a management team and group finance.

- ACA/ACCA/CIMA Part-Qualified or Qualified, or QBE with relevant accounts experience
- Previous experience in an accounting role is essential
- Excellent levels of accuracy
- Ability to self-manage and work to deadlines efficiently
- Proven problem-solving capabilities
- Project costing experience preferable
- Knowledge/understanding of payroll processes would be an advantage

Systems requirements

- Working knowledge of Sage 50 preferential
- Excel knowledge to advanced level would be preferential
- Proficient in Microsoft office
