Our established and highly reputable SME client is currently looking to recruit a new Financial Controller. This is a rewarding and challenging opportunity to work in a fast moving, proactive and successful UK business where you will be responsible for providing technical, value adding, financial and commercial support to the Managing Director.

The key responsibilities of this broad accounting and finance role will include all aspects of managing the smooth running and financial output of a cost focused business, including the timely and accurate production of management accounts and management information.
You will be expected to travel abroad to see our customers once or twice a month. The customer base ranges from Europe to Australia.
The core responsibilities for this role will include: The day to day running of a small & efficient accounts team; The production of MI including profit and loss, margin and balance sheet analysis; Control of balance sheet accounts; Tight management of cash flow; The production of forecasts and budgets, to manage the production of annual statuary accounts as well as liaising with external stakeholder’s and organisations including banks and the firms accountants.

In addition to the above the successful candidate will also provide a full payroll service as well as managing company administrative and secretarial duties such as insurance, employee benefits and annual returns. As Financial Controller you will also support the executive and senior management team with various other ad-hoc tasks, financial advice and analysis.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected UK business and will suit a confident and organised Qualified; Company Accountant / Finance Manager / Financial Controller / Head of Finance with strong interpersonal & communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as well as independently. This role will require the successful candidate to challenge, facilitate and influence at all levels across the business. Strong spreadsheet, data manipulation and MS excel skills are also highly desirable as is any recent sector experience of working and being hands-on and instrumental in a fast moving SME business.
