Due to significant growth opportunities and contract expansion within Retail and Consumer we are looking for an experienced Commercial Finance Manager to join our Grocery Sector and support our expansion.

The role will be based at our new distribution centre in Wellingborough.

Key Accountabilities

* Reporting to the General Manager with a dotted line to the Contract Accountant.

* Take a hands on approach to compiling weekly flash info for the customer for either warehouse or transport & oversee site flash compilation / review.

* Manage all site financial activities in a manner that adds value to the client and the business to achieve key operational performance objectives.

* To ensure financial control requirements are met providing a reliable service to the operation whilst meeting budgetary requirements.

* To lead weekly finance meetings with the senior team, review flash, commentary, headlines and any other internal weekly accounts.

* To ensure a high quality and efficient service is provided both internally and externally to achieve site targets

* Complete customer period end and collating the Period Pack.

* Provide info for Wincanton BUD reports and upload non-financials into the CUBE

* Prepare budgets and Forecasts for customer and Wincanton

* To monitor and lead team members by giving direction and monitoring performance to ensure high levels of service are achieved.

* Be responsible for the day to day management of all aspects of general administration and finance ensuring the provision of an efficient and reliable service. Control of purchase ledger, invoices, queries, orders raised / received.

* Ensure the operation achieves targeted KPI’s

* Ensure department operates in line with all company and customer procedures and requirements relating to Health and Safety

* Ensure any disciplinary action is carried out following company procedure and aim to resolve grievances on a day-to-day basis by leading by example.

* Ensure effective communication throughout the operation.

* Manage and track continuous improvement programmes

* Collaborate, find, and promote best practice opportunities with the customers network.

* Identify opportunities both financial and operational within the site / wider network and suggest and implement efficiency improvements

Skills & Experience

* Possessing a recognised accounting qualification

* Advanced Excel skills

* Ability to communicate effectively and proactively to both internal and external stakeholders

* Proactively challenge and mentor site operational teams

* Knowledge and understanding of KPI’s with understanding of financial management / performance

* Experience of supervising / managing a team, leading by example, is approachable, open, fair and consistent with excellent interpersonal skills

* Ability to work to deadlines, paying attention to detail whilst prioritising workload
