A fantastic opportunity has just become available for a Senior Product Owner in Glasgow for a well known and reputable financial service client who are looking to hire this Product Owner/Team Lead to build out a new team in Glasgow and will be on a permanent basis
The key responsibilities will be:
- Product Owner capacity to have oversight and responsibility of representing the Capabilities Product Vision, Product Roadmap and Business Outcomes
- Build, manage and prioritize feature teams backlogs, and working collaboratively with other feature teams
- Translate stakeholder requirements and business strategy into executable plans, and see these through to implementation.
- Partnership with internal and external leads across Architecture, Engineering, Programmes and Stakeholder community
- Driving technical deliverables of the team and ensuring quality of delivery
- Allocate resources in an effective manner that ensures project/backlog delivery, while developing skills and experience of the people on the team
- Define, lead and present key design requirements or changes to other/central Design Authorities
- Manage by influence - show gravitas, build solid relationships, demonstrate a proven track record of effectively managing internal and external stakeholders; ability to work regionally and globally
- Make informed and considered decision making, through collaboration across functions, regions, services and processes
The key skills they are looking for are:
- Practical experience or high quality in-depth understanding of Reference Data - Legal Entities, Trading Accounts, Standard Settlement Instructions (SSI's) and/or Book Data
- Business, functional and Technical analytical skills
- Demonstrate strong experience in defining and building Business Requirements, user stories, Business Processes, data modelling, flow documentations and other similar project and technical artefacts
- Data integration, Data mastering, Data distribution experience
- Practice and Ability to analyse and query large sets of data, map data and design functional solutions according to best business benefit and distribution
- Ability to successfully execute and deliver strategic initiatives and optimization programs across multiple functions, regions, products at a senior level
- Proven management experience of small to medium size teams (5-15 people)
- Experience of providing leadership and direction to the team
- Experience of matrix management
- Extensive Agile experience through use, coaching and training
- In-depth Project Management experience and change governance
- Ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders
- Collaborative style with ability to quickly build trust/credibility
- Strong delivery focus
- Excels at conflict management & managing delivery in a matrix reporting structure
- Ability to work independently & drive initiatives forward until delivery
- Analytical mind-set, able to challenge the status quo, identify root causes and work with a multifunctional team to define and implement the optimal solution
