Senior Financial Accountant – Chelmsford – 4-6 month contract - £(Apply online only) per day Umb – IR35 Status: Inside scope
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Financial Accountant to work for our client based in Chelmsford on a contract expected to last 4-6 months. Candidates with experience of working within the public sector particularly for a local authority are highly desirable.
Duties:
* Provide technical advice, training and instructions to other finance professionals and, where appropriate, directly to non-financial managers,
* Support and help to drive the implementation of changes to accounting practice to ensure that the organisation’s statutory financial accounts provide a true and fair view of its financial performance and position.
* Support and help to drive the implementation of major changes to Government policies and procedures (including those related to taxes and duties) that impact income, expenditure and/or cash.
* Provide quality assurance in relation to financial practices, accounting requirements, taxation and certification of appropriate returns, and propose corrective action, where necessary, to ensure that the required targets and standards are met.
* Coordinate and/or support the delivery of an effective treasury management function which complies with relevant Codes of Practice and Regulations.
* Coordinate the delivery of effective, timely and accurate complex financial, tax and wider performance information to external organisations.
* Provide expert advice on interpreting the information, risks and forecasts published.
