The Role

The successful candidate will join Willis Towers Watson as a trainee accountant, supported through a four year training program. This will equip them with a professional accountancy qualification and the foundation experience across most aspects of finance on which to build an outstanding career. The candidate will work within the Revenue Control team as part of the Willis Limited financial controllership function, with the potential to move into other Finance roles through their training period and beyond. The Revenue Control team are seeking to make improvements to controls and processes through the extended use of technology and automation. The successful candidate would be expected to be a key part of developing and implementing these improvements Principal Accountabilities
  • Responsibilities over the preparation of certain accounting entries and reconciliation schedules for the monthly close cycle
  • Overseeing and reviewing journal and reconciliation activities performed by the offshore finance team
  • Understanding and applying accounting policies, particularly around revenue reconciliation and certain salary and benefit and incentive process
  • Collation and review of SOX control evidence
  • Working alongside the CRB and Reinsurance business teams in understanding, reviewing and challenging revenue accruals and deferral requests
  • Supporting the Revenue Control manager in making control and process improvements, including through new technology and automation
  • In addition to the regular month-end activity, there will be a significant volume of ad-hoc project work.

The Requirements
  • Gradate with excellent academics
  • A computer science or information technology background an advantage
  • Minimum 3 B’s at A-Level
  • Have excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Well presented
  • Self-motived and ambitious
  • Proficient in Excel.
