The Group Chief Financial Officer reports to the Group CEO and the Board. She/he will be responsible for safeguarding and optimizing utilization of the Group's financial resources by implementing appropriate financial management systems, policies and practices and overseeing efficient planning, monitoring and control at all Group companies.

Job Purpose
The Group Chief Financial Officer reports to the Group CEO and the Board. She/he will be responsible for safeguarding and optimizing utilization of the Group's financial resources by implementing appropriate financial management systems, policies and practices and overseeing efficient planning, monitoring and control at all Group companies.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the development of the Group's strategic plan, ensuring alignment between long term financial management strategies and the overall performance goals.
- Develop and /or streamline Finance management strategies that are in line with organisational objectives, by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and establishing functional objectives.
- Develop organization prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities projecting acquisition and expansion prospects.
- Continuously review and analyse organization operations, identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction and systems enhancement.
- Monitor measure and analyze financial performance results and initiate corrective actions that minimize the impact of variances.
- Direct the Group Treasury function and ensure the availability of funds to run company operations and the maximization of returns on invested funds.
- Take responsibility for timely, accurate analysis and reporting of budgets, financial reports and financial trends to aid in decision making.
- Support the management decision making process by providing strategic financial input.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts that are in line with operational budgets and monitor working capital levels to ensure that cash commitments can be met,
- Work closely with external auditors on all Group company audits.
- Responsible for the overall performance of the department.
Qualifications and competencies
You will be an assertive and innovative thinker with a strong sense of accountability who has the ability to articulate a clear understanding of the organization's strategy from all perspectives to manage profitability and find creative solutions to address financial problems. In addition, you will have:
- Degree in finance or related field
- Professional Accountancy Certification (CPA-K and or ACCA)
- At least ten (10) years' experience in financial management three (3) of which must be in a leadership role within a trading and manufacturing environment.
- Extensive hands on experience in financial planning, strategy development, financial forecasting, corporate finance and developing organizational budgets.
- Strategic thinker with good decision making and problem solving skills
- Strong leadership, task management, planning and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented, efficient and able to multi-task, prioritize, manage and follow projects through to completion.
- MBA from a recognized institution would be an added advantage.
