FIXED TERM CONTRACT ROLE - 12 MONTHS WITH OPTION TO EXTEND

We are supporting an innovative Healthcare company with the recruitment of a Qualified Financial Accountant. Ideally you will be based on short notice. Competitive salary and benefits package attached.

Main duties include:
  • Responsible for providing timely and accurate reporting in accordance with both local regulations (legal entity reporting) and US GAAP requirements. This position is also responsible to ensure that bookkeeping is in accordance with local regulations and Corporate Policies and Procedures.
  • Coordinate financial and accounting processes to ensure compliance with Corporate and local policies, statutory requirements and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Oversee month end close process to ensure timely and accurate close.
  • Ensure all activities comply with relevant Acts, legal demands, ethical standards and the internal Quality Management System. Owner of SOX Closing Cycle controls. Continually re-assesses the need for new controls or control improvement in line with the changes in business processes.
  • Prepare draft of statutory accounts in line with FRS102 (New UK GAAP) and statutory reporting pack in line with US GAAP.
  • Prepare annual tax reporting pack and work with PWC on the corporation tax returns, regularly update Corporate Tax System GAM.
  • Manager’s responsibility for Financial Accountant, who supports payroll, sponsorship payments’ tracking and compliance and corporate credit cards reconciliation.
  • Responsible for employee share payment and benefit-in-kind reporting.
  • Balance Sheet and Assets Management: work with the Country Controller to achieve effective balance sheet and assets management, tracking and safeguarding of the company assets. Responsible for the fixed assets balance sheet accounts and accounting for capital equipment.
  • VAT: calculation and payment; maintain all records for VAT reporting and ensure VAT compliance. Oversee Intrastat and Statistical Returns.
  • Support with all internal and independent audits and audit-related accounting matters as required.
  • Manage accounting aspects related to acquisitions
  • Participate and supervise local and European/Corporate projects
  • Ad hoc duties in line with overall responsibilities.

To be considered you must:
  • Be ACA/ACCA qualified accountant with a minimum 5 years’ experience in financial reporting and/or auditing.
  • Have a good working knowledge of UK and US GAAP, past experience in UK statutory reporting.
  • Be experienced in working for US multinationals in a shared service environment in a similar position.
  • Be experienced in management of people/processes.
  • Have good analytical skills and questioning attitude.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP, advanced Excel skills
  • Have project experience.
  • Be an effective communicator with the ability to build good working relationships across the company.
  • Be self-motivated and ambitious.
  • Be able to prioritise effectively and work under pressure.
  • Team player with initiative and good decision-making skills
