Our client is a leading name in the construction industry who provide specialist building control services and structural warranties for commercial and domestic builders and property developers nationally.

A forward thinking company they are currently seeking an Insurance Underwriter to work on their structural warranties team based at their office in Darlington.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a similar role who is self-sufficient and motivated with excellent customer relationship management to meet client requirements and expectations at the same time as being a be a proactive team player who is able to help the company to meet business goals.

Key responsibilities for the role will include:

• Work in line with the underwriting process and procedure for Building Warranties, including the implementation of policies for all the companies Insurance products.

• Ensure the quote and application process in respect of Building Warranties meet necessary requirements.

• Monitor and maintain client memberships.

• Generation of sales leads/quotes for insurance products.

• Maintain the CML Register.

• Take part in a training and development program particularly in respect of sales personnel, to ensure understanding of financial conduct.

• Together with the Warranties management team, implement and manage a claims process in accordance with FCA requirements.

Additional key skills that they are seeking include:

• A person who can embed the philosophy of embracing change within their business division to build a workforce that holds zero resistance to change processes.

• Proactive and extremely well experienced in introducing new ways of working within all insurance aspects of the business.

• Demonstrate motivation skills that promote performance within the Insurance team.

• Strong analytical and abstract reasoning skills.

• Availability to travel when necessary.

• Have attention to detail picks up on mistakes and rectifies before problems arise.

• Passion and drive are just two of the qualities you possess.

To be considered for this roles you must have the following qualification and experience:

• Underwriting experience within an Insurance business.

• Have an understanding of the FCA requirements.

• Willing to work towards membership of Chartered Insurance Institute.

It would be desirable if you have:

• Financial services related degree.
