With the opening of the new office in Beirut, Swisscontact will establish its first presence in the Middle East. In the initial year of our activity, the build-up of a competent team, a well-functioning country office, the cooperation with our partners and the implementation of our “Youth Employment and Skills” project will be our priorities. We are looking for a flexible, motivated and versatile person who has strong business administration skills and who is interested in shaping a new office in the non-profit sector from the start.

• Independent handling of the project’s & office’s bookkeeping; responsible to ensure proper documentation of accounting vouchers
• Manage accounting systems (budget framework, collation and reconciliation, periodic management accounting reports, variances and forecasts)
• Maintain the time reporting of staff
• Maintain the financial reporting system (monthly, semester and annual financial reporting), ensuring compliance with Swisscontact and donor requirements
• Support and liaise with the external auditor
• Internal financial controls (ensure, monitor and report on compliance)
• Manage tax and legal issues ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements
• Keep an inventory of assets and manage the delivery of and service level agreement with suppliers
• Cash Management, invoicing, controlling
• Help establish the country manual Lebanon including rules & regulations for procurement of goods and services and staff regulations
• Supervise and guide on legal processes with local Government
• First level IT support
• Coordinate front-desk activities, including distributing correspondence and redirecting phone calls
• Host guests and partners as soon as they arrive at the office
• Maintain office security & safety
