Description

The Accountant on a day to day basis as part of a team will be responsible for general ledger transactions and management reporting for designated companies. This is up to and including statutory accounts and submissions together with VAT, tax and reporting. This will include all general ledger journals, accruals, fixed asset register and other adjustments. This role will also contain accounting for Group treasury transactions, loans, loan interest and dividends in multi currencies.

Finance Policy and Controls

*Ensure compliance with the Company accounting policies including VAT and other taxes

*Assist internal and external audits including the preparation of audit schedules and auditor requests.

*Prepare and ensure the integrity of company balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.

*Ensure that key group deadlines are met.

Financial Operations and Shared Services

*Preparation of key reports such as cash flow , VAT , month end reporting.

*Ensure efficient and effective processing of general ledger transactions.

*Recording loan and interest movements correctly

*Support implementation of enabling technologies (such as SAP, HFM, ) within the UK.

*Work with regional treasury team to ensure appropriate funding of legal entities through forecast and management of cash flows and banking relationships in region

Business Optimization / Insights

*Involvement in financial reporting processes and submission of statutory, statistical and taxation returns.

*Involvement in dealing with group structures as this role includes a wide number of holding companies their subsidiaries.

*Involvement in submissions to the US for US statutory purposes

*Review of existing processes, structures, and systems with a focus on simplifying, eliminating, consolidating and standardizing.

Business Excellence

*Implement and drive consistency, efficiency, integration and communication of accounting policies, procedures, and processes.

*Assist in driving alignment, integration, and optimization among all IT platforms.

*Ensure compliance with US and UK GAAP, IFRS 201 tax and statutory reporting requirements

Profile

  • AAT Qualified or Part Qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent. Qualified By Experience also considered.
  • Ideally experience in a similar role
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in finance and accounting.
  • Experience with SAP & HFM systems is highly desirable
  • Work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong financial, IT and analytical skills
