Senior Project Accountant (Interim)
CIPFA–Penna are supporting a large, evolving council in the Midlands in search of a Senior Project Accountant to plan, deliver and lead a high–profile programme of improvement in developing the financial operating model and associated processes.
Focussing on the financial & management reporting, budgeting and forecasting and financial management processes, the onus will be on moving the current landscape ever closer to excellence. This will be achieved by a detailed review followed by a clear action plan which will involve a great number of staff at all levels – working through issues with concise and constructive challenge, demonstrating an exemplary understanding of likely consequences (and plans with which how to manage these effectively) and proficiently measuring progress with robust and detailed business cases and supporting analysis.
This is an exciting and prominent project – one that is crucial for the improving the council's control, management, performance and overall success in delivering services within agreed budgets whilst delivering ambitious savings plans.
We are seeking candidates with extensive knowledge of leading and delivering complex improvement projects of a similar nature in a local authority environment.
